Four suspected cultists and two others were yesterday killed in three attacks in three Local Government Areas of Rivers State, according to a report by TheNation.
This comes just four days after more than 20 people were massacred by unknown gunmen while returning from New Year service on the 1st of January.
Yesterday’s killings took place iin Ahoada Local Government, Egbeda in Emohua Local Government and Andoni local government council.
Commissioner of Police Zaki Ahmed confirmed the attacks in Emohua and Andoni at a news conference.
But Community sources said trouble started at Ahoada yesterday when a local viligante group in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA(ONELGA), known as Onelga Security Planning Advisory Committee (OSPAC), on tip-off, stormed and attacked the hideout of a notorious gangster in Ahoada and opened fire on them.
Four of the hoodlums were said to have died in the attack, one of them was arrested for questioning.
On the other attacks, the CP said:  ”I can confirm that some people came on motor bike and attacked some people and ran away.  One person was killed in that incident.

“Also there was a cult clash in Admoni LGA in which one person was also killed. However arrests have been made in respect of the Andoni incident.” he said.
He assured residents of ONELGA and the state that security have been strenghten in the areas, while normalcy has returned.
Ahmed said efforts are on top gear to apprehend the suspects in Nigeria time.
