HAPPENING LIVE: Helicopter Loaded With Heavy Arms And Ammunition Lands In The North, Ahead Of 2019 Elections

The Taraba State Government, has raised an alarm that a helicopter suspected to be loaded with arms and ammunition, landed in a village called Jibu, in Wukari Local Government Area of the State.

Governor Darius Ishaku’s Media Aide, Bala Dan Abu, told Newsmen that the arms and ammunition were allegedly meant for a militia group that may be planning attacks on Taraba villages, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“This system of arms delivery was used prior to the tragic attacks in Agatu communities in Benue State, last year, which led to the killings there.
“When it was reported, nothing was done to trace and arrest the owners of the helicopter.
“That strategy worked for them in Agatu, and they are using it again today.
“This may be another planned militia attacks on the people of Taraba in the offing”, Dan-Abu said.
Meanwhile, the Police Spokesmanin the State, David Misal, stated that a surveillance team had been directed to the area to get to the root of the matter.
